Alain ModotDirector of European and Public Affairs - MCG
After teaching economics for 8 years, Alain Modot served as General Manager of the French association against audiovisual piracy, ALPA, from 1986 to 1988. He founded USPA, the independent producers' trade association, in 1988 and served as its COO until 1995. During that period he also contributed to the development of CEPI, the first European independent producers' association whose aim was to strengthen the TV producers' lobby. He chaired CEPI from 1993 to 1995.
Alain Modot launched and managed in 1995 TV France International to support the promotion and export of French audiovisual programmes.
After serving Canal Plus Group as Director of Public Affairs from 1997 to 1999, he joined IMCA as partner and head of European affairs. With Paul Herve Vintrou, he launched Media Consulting Group in 2002.
Between 2001 and 2003 Alain Modot carried out three studies for the European Commission (DG EAC) on the profitability of investment in the European film industry, the midterm evaluation of Media Plus and Media Training and an evaluation of the I2I preparatory action.
He chairs Media Consulting Group's European and Public Affairs department.
